I am alone for the next 26 hours or so, Hans is in hospital having a blood transfusion.

Wednesday he saw the haematologist, the chief was not there it was one of his team and a very nice young Polish doctor who spoke reasonable English as well as excellent German.

Two results show the thrombopenie is stable, he needs that checked every 3 months still.

His test showed he is anaemic, because of the bleeding the operation has caused (still not completely stopped, but only slight)
In recent weeks he has been breathless, no energy and sleepy, today he will be given a boost with red corpuscles.

On the 19th June he will be in the same hospital again for the stent and another transfusion, this time of the platelets (usually found in large numbers in blood and involved in clotting) they are lacking in his blood.

I told him to come back the man he used to be, his answer "You wouldn't be able to cope"[tango_face_grin]

Hope everything goes smoothly for Hans.

Have you got your own parking slot there yet? [rolleyes][smile]

Wouldn't that be nice.
The last time he was in I went to collect him and parked for 10 minutes in the only slot long enough fo the Navajo, I have parked there a few times before with no trouble, there was nothing to say it was a disabled spot and I got a €35.00 fine.[mad]
The fine said it was disabled parking only.

Next time we went a big white wheelchair sign had been painted on the ground.

That was unlucky, I would have contested that if there were no signs at the time Jan.

The sign was where the cars are, to the left of this spot the sign has an arrow pointing right, disabled parking sign, and the number of bays, I had never noticed it because of cars parked in front.

Thank you dear ones.
I have spoken to him a few times today, he had 2 measures of red stuff, is content in the room shared with one other patient, he had a sleep this afternoon after the red stuff.
He has also visited the cardiology department to check up on something before he goes there on the 19th next month for the stent and had a laugh with the nurses. He's a bit of a terror with female nurses don't ya know, 79 years old and he can still make them laugh.
The taxi is already booked for the morning at 9 am so he will be home by 10am.

Hopefully this isn't going to be a regular thing Simon.
He has to have checks every 3 months because of this other problem (Thrombopenie)

In English -- thrombocytopenia -- a lack of platelets (blood platelets) in the blood

which was found out through removing a bit of bone marrow, He has to have that done again in 4 years "If I'm still in the land of the living" he said to the doctor.
The reason being this blood disorder  (in my words not medical terms)  can develop into leukaemia over the years, if it does there are drugs to control it we were told. All a bit above our heads, but they know what they are doing I am sure.

You´re getting to know him, but first he´ll stop to say hello to Motley of course.

As I can´t find anything suitable I though I´d give this a whirl.    [whirly]

I thought you were supposed to be going somewhere as well, has it been cancelled because the blue devil has arrived?

Bah! I’m not best pleased with west wales right now. Everywhere I go there’s no overnighting signs. Scotland is so much friendlier. So we found a car park on the coast at Borth for £7.50 overnight. I won’t stay here long I’d rather be home.

Only just found this Jan. - Wish Hans well from us as well please.

Having spent the last two years ‘confined’ to the U.K. Simon, it is SO nice to be across the Channel again......and even better to be as far as Greece. As you know, France is a motorhomers dream with the aires.

In Greece one should use campsites, but we have never been moved on at all. We even wave to the local Police, and they wave back! We have visited West Wales three times in the last two years and never found it easy to park. There is a village car park in Cenarth which is free overnight, and there is also a ‘paid’ carpark right next to the river, (by the bridge), which I think is about £5 for 24 hours if you are in that area at all.

No we’re going north not south.

And also my satnag has stopped nagging. It’s showing the map properly but won’t guide me. For a while in mid wales in came up with a message I’ve never seen before saying it was waiting for more map data. Weird. I’ll do refresh when I’m home on the PC and see if that cures it

Wales is beautiful, just not motorhome friendly!

Have a good time anyway Simon. There are some great beaches for Molly!
