Yesterday was an anniversary, he has been catheterised for a whole year.
I really am surprised the way he has coped with it, there has been an accident or three, but nothing serious and we don't smell like an old peoples home.

If he didn't have the blood disorder wait for it ------ thrombocytopenia, plus he is on blood thinners, has a pacemaker,
(a hip replacement, hearing aids, wears glasses [frown]
it would have been sorted ages ago, but nobody would touch him until the haematologist said it will be OK.

At least he is getting it sorted. Many blokes just leave it and hope for the best. Good luck to you both.

Nick.

When it reaches this stage Nick it cannot be ignored because you would not be able to pee, that's what happened with Hans and it was so painful the ambulance took him to hospital and he was fitted with a catheter.
He's had an enlarged prostate for many years taking flomax/ tamsilosin tablets since before we moved here.

It seemed a reasonable assumption, given the state of the rest of 'im. Let's face it, Kev's a mess.

hi all

i have been worrying about the results from my prostate test

i had it done back home a couple of weeks ago but the doc was not sure if it would be right as i was on antibiotics for my water infection the test was 1.50

i have just had a test in portugal 2 weeks after finishing the antibiotics and luckily the results were 1.35

so 1 less thing to worry about as i do worry about everything

My father died of metastatic prostate cancer so it does concern me, I read its between 5 and 10% genetic.

I try to look after myself as much as possible and keep my fingers crossed for the genetic side of it.

No, not regular, I have had a couple after I saw a poster in the surgery saying ''Are you a male aged over 40, did you father die of prostate cancer, get tested today''
They were fine but I must get another one.

He was only just turned 60 so very young and he had it for a good 3 years, spread all over in the end, even to his brain.

Mother died of cancer, sister died in her fifties of cancer(bowel), it doesn't bode well for me does it?
