hi to you both, and welcome to MHO.

Most common one is the status aerial, not noticed any other makes to be honest as we don't bother with live TV, only watch pre-recorded programs or DVDs.

Hiya and welcome to the forum.

We have the Status 530 directional antennae on ours and it works well. Only downside is you need to drill a hole in the roof and have suitable locker/wardrobe space underneath to hide the retracted mast. I think they have now updated it with another model.

The omnidirectional aerials don't have a mast, imo they used to be a bit rubbish in the analogue era but I think they might work a bit better with the current digital signals although I have no experience of that type.

edit - updated model I mentioned above is the status 570/580

Welcome Mariia and Steve. Our van came already fitted with a aerial. We don’t use the tv in the van, so I cannot really comment on its performance, but it is what Auto Trail fit to their vans if you have the ‘media package.’ We were not bothered about paying the extra and having it, but the dealer said that if we ever wanted to sell the van, people like a tv theses days, so it would make the sale easier. The package gave us a few other extra’s as well....therefore we went with it. I guess if you want to watch a lot of tv then maybe a dish would be better?

Hi and welcome when we had a tv I fitted an external small aerial socket to the side of the van and carried a normal short tv aerial and a pole worked really well and a lot cheaper than a posh roof one without drilling holes in the roof. I purchased the aerial from wickes about £28 back then and the cable and socket £20 roughly. Good luck with however you chose to do it, and happy travels.👍

I had a domestic aerial on a pole many years ago, thankfully my first MH when I asked for an aerial they fitted a Status. My latest MH also has a Status and very useful it is too. There are a couple of niggles that may have been sorted by now. Firstly the need to know where to point it as it is directional. I use a Maplins signal finder that is spot on. Secondly as already mentioned is the need to have lowering space in a wardrobe and to have to cut a small 2 inch diameter hole.
