Oh, and I’m off to the Nightingale later for an ultrasound scan on my liver.

Our surgery won’t do blood tests any more so we have to go to the hospital in ascot. Luckily it’s only about four miles away an five pounds to park.

The Hospital and the Surgery have a 'blood wagon' every day, Pete.

Part of it comes from Covid when all the local GP Surgeries decided it was far too dangerous for them to be taking bloods, so somehow managed to land it all on the local Hospital - then 'forgot' to pay them.  The Hospital quite rightly got pee'd off and refused to do any more until they coughed up.

Now the Surgery simply refuses anything but their own.  A little while ago they were made to do them again but a few days ago I saw the notice back in the window saying 'No Hospital blood tests'.

The whole NHS really does need a boot in the nether regions.  I don't know how your lot are but for us the folk who actually DO the job are superb.  Someone needs to send 'The Asset' in with a very sharp axe to sort out the Admin clowns.  Both the local NHS authorities take in excess of 6 weeks to get a letter, or a medication order, from a Consultant posted out.  It's a bit more than a rumour that they save it up and farm it out to private companies.

I so want to put my old Warrant Officer's hat back on and get stuck in there.  They really wouldn't like me after the first few days - I hope ........... [biggrin][biggrin]

I arrived at the Nightingale 10 minutes ahead of my appointment. I’d barely sat down than I was called in and seen by the operative. She then spent 10-15 minutes with her ultrasound machine and told me she’d finished. “Nothing appears out of the norm” she told me. I was home within 10 minutes.

Then it was walkies before I took my coat and shoes off.

Now I’m having breakfast rather later than usual. Then I’ll have lunch, also a tad late 😎 better late than never.
