Heike had her first `go´ driving the Navajo this morning, as she normally drives LHD she did very well, her instructor had to remind her to give a bit more welly than the car when starting off,  to keep more over to the right and change up a gear now and then. We didn't go on straight even surfaced roads, all twist, turn and bumpy so she had a good practice on the gear change. When we got home she reversed it onto it´s spot with a bit of guidance from the instructor and parked perfectly. [awesome-smiley-emoticon]
It will be good taking it in turns to drive when we leave on Thursday.

[biggrin] . We will check tomorrow, but I think its the Navajo thats insured for any driver and we have a separate insurance for ourselves. It´s on the list for `to do´ in the morning.

Why, I didn't and I was 12 years older then than she is now. She is a very good confident driver, usually drives here from her home, but this time came by  train so we can go back together.

Haha, she has a history of being forgetful, but in her defense she did have a lot to worry about at the time.

I forget what I forgot tugs, not your birthday I know.

New plan, We are driving in convoy on Thursday, Heike will be in the Forester because I will sell it to Jürgen in a few months time. Better I have a car whilst I am with them for taking Motley to walking places where parking is not suitable for a van.
What I said yesterday about the insurance is correct, anyone (over 23 years) can drive either vehicle because it's the vehicle that's insured and drivers have their own accident insurance.
With 2 vehicles we can take more things with us 😁.
Sorted a few things yesterday, bank, vehicle ownership and a new residence certificate for me because the 2005 one was not good enough for the car ownership people, they needed one less than 6 months old. No trouble getting it of course because I'm in the computer.
Thursday is a public holiday here, the reunification day of East & West Germany, so hopefully the Autobahn will not be busy and we can make good progress to at least Dresden. We are going on the A13 even though it's more km. because there are a lot less road works than going on the A9 that delayed Heike when she drive up in August.

And it was rebuilt in a short time. Die Frauenkirche was completed a couple of years back.

From this as it still looked in 1958

Went to a talk about the re-build about 10 years ago ... hadn’t realised it would be in German ... 🙄. Maddy managed not to wriggle too much!
Selling the car Jan? Will you buy another? Surely you won’t want to have to drive the van all the time ... shopping etc?

Yes Katherine, that really is the idea, a smaller car, Motley and I don´t need a SUV just a little potter around in car.

Today I sold the Bauwagen/builders caravan type thingy, for 300€
:D

It´s the green thing you often see in my photos can't be bothered to put a photo on now.

I am also the legal owner of the Navajo and Forester so any time Jürgen want to buy the Forester he can.

Been a tough day, but we are almost packed ready to go, car is full as well as the Navajo.

Not a good start Simon, the Navajo broke down 200km from our destination. I will make a full report probably tomorrow, today I feel like an old lady, tired no energy and the get up and go has definitely got up and gone.😧
