You´re deferably not a birdy bloke, of course they are storks, you will never find a Herron standing up there on a storks nest.
There you go, thats what I´ve learned you today Puddle [biggrin]
Lovely Pat, only time I have seen so many together was in East Poland.

Hahahaha yes, most definitely Storks Pudsey..
Gerty in the central area of Portugal , this was a place called Murtosa they are very commonplace. The local council builds the purpose built posts for them to make their nests, one because it encourages them to stay and two because it stops them using people’s chimneys and other difficult places.

We have 2 purpose built frames in the village, one was used for years, but suddenly about 3-4 years ago it was deserted, the second one is just a frame, nobody has tried to build on it.

What happened to my last post, I obviously didn't click add reply.

This photo was taken in 2006 on the barn 2 doors away from us, not seen that many together since. They are dwindling as are all the big birds, little birds and deer. Storks on watch.jpg

Not done too much planning tbh Lin, just following our nose and making it up as we go.
Booked Newhaven Dieppe outbound with a commodore day cabin for £113 inc old giffers discount, happy with that.

Pete

Us doing much of the same Pete. We are booked on Euro Tunnel for £96 (single) first week of September. Calais as our arrival destination suits us, so also happy with that. When are you setting off?

Wow, that barn looks sorry for itself now Jan! Thanks for the photo of the storks again. What a great picture!

Next week Lin.
We usually go via the tunnel but this gets you further down the coast for about the same money. Also only 10 miles further than it is to the tunnel for us.
Its a 4 hr afternoon crossing so having a cabin gives you somewhere quiet to relax.

Pete

Yup, I can see them properly now, on my phone they were too small to see much.

Lovely video Pat 😉
