As it says in the comments, it's also the biggest flying Concorde.

Geoff will have liked that.

Christmas Eve 1982, we were celebrating in the office when an American customer rang.

He wanted me in Oklahoma on day 27 because on January 2 there will be a visit from the bank that finances his company to check the progress of the plants.
We try to explain to him that the 26th is a holiday with us and we will not succeed.
After a lot of discussion we agreed to leave on the 27th in order to arrive at least the 28th.

But there are no seats on planes, all fully booked.
I tried, I could fly on the Concorde and asked if it can be done.
In few minutes the answer came:
No sir, you can't. Only the President and the CEO are authorized to use it.

Flying on it remained a dream.

Max

P.S. Don't ask me how but a seat on a normal B747 is found.
In my opinion, a normal tourist remained on the ground.

And don't even ask me how my US visa was applied for and obtained.
In those days I lived with my passport in a drawer of my desk, it was enough to send it to the US consulate by means of a taxi driver.
On the 26th I went personally there, the passport already had the visa stamped on it and only at that time I filled in the application form.
Power of the business evidently.

I was fortunate to have flown on Concorde. We got to Mach 2 as well. Also went up to the cockpit when at Mach 2 to see the pilot, co pilot and Flight Engineer.

Lovely meal but very cramped seats!

An awesome experience.
