You will be pleased that Social Care has become highlighted far more over the last few days Paul. - Today the BBC is full of it. (And about damn time).

I have just watched Baroness Altmann state that not enough has been done over the years. The interviewer suggested that as she is a Conservative Peer, maybe it is her own Party that hasn’t supported the ‘Care System’ enough over the last 10 years in Government? Ros Altmann tried to claim it was successive governments....but to my mind I cannot excuse any government that has been in power for 10 years and not shown even a slight improvement in social care....let alone one where things have deteriorated!

Exactly Lin, they have cut it to the bone for years the funding, eventually something has to give when you do that.
You cannot cut repeatedly the funding and not have consequences

Government have slashed funding to local authorities which has had an enormous effect on people's lives, it makes me so mad.

It's taken a lot of deaths for them to be talking about it today
A stupid thought I know but I sometimes wish I was retirement age so I could walk away.

It needs people like you to stick with it Paul. Just think what a state it would be in without the dedicated workers like yourself who are keeping the whole system afloat!

Firstly let me say that anyone in the NHS and carers professions are doing a brilliant job in the face of adversity however, and not wishing to pee on anyone's chips, but can you realistically think that c.1.5million employees will be afforded income tax breaks when we will be seeing the biggest falls in GDP our country has faced for 300 years?

We should all steel ourselves up to be paying MORE income tax in the future as this massive bailout has to be paid for somehow.

Very laudable but wholly unrealistic imho.

Sadly I have to agree.

Also Captain toms effort brilliant as it is, is actually peanuts, the NHS costs the best part of £140,000,000 per day to run, possibly more right now.

It's not time limited tax breaks social care staff require it's a payrise, Scotland announced this week immediate effect payrise to £9.30 at least, to include all sleep in hours too.

England should quickly follow suit.
