It looks very genuine until you see the PayPal email address.

I have deleted it, but if I have anymore do they have one of these fishing email addresses?

It’s a pity the scammers aren’t caught and incarcerated

if you read it carefully you will see several discrepancies where they’re using flawed Chinglish or Indlish within their statement to you.

delete delete delete , like you have done, is always the best way if you’re uncertain.

I have thought about changing my email address, but then I would have to tell 10001 other firms, forums and friends.

I've had a spate of these recently, I've got two PayPal accounts, a £ one and a € one and had them supposedly for both accounts.

PayPal will always address you with your registered name, check the email address of the sender.
The latest ones have originated from Nederlands, Finland and France.

I always forward to spoof@paypal.com and the only reply I ever get is from the .fr site.

Aha, my post has a [image] at the end of it - I know that I added an emoticon and it hasn’t appeared correctly - but it wasn’t one I’d normally use, so here’s another option to put against it 🤬

perhaps Alan was doing the same on a couple where he gets it too?

Depending on your email provider, you should be able to set up "filters" so that either your provider blocks them or you block them yourself before they go into your "inbox". Have a chat with your friends "brother" i.e. the person who reset your iMac, and ask him.

They used to go into junk Drew, but now to the in box.

I don´t open anything on the emails, just forward to apple or PayPal and then delete including from the bin.

And it´s Heike´s son.

"And it´s Heike´s son".

Thank you for keeping me right, however I did say  "i.e. the person who reset your iMac", and ask him.

I have exactly the opposite, for years all correspondence from E-Bay went straight into my inbox, for quite a few months now it goes into "Junk". I have their address in my contacts and in "previous recipients" but try as I do it still goes straight into "Junk".
