We usually book two crossings every year on this route but for some reason the bookings stop after 30th September.
Anyone got any information on what's happening and are they going to continue this service from October.

I assume you've looked on the ferry website, if there is nothing on there I don't know where you would get any info from.

I just looked at the booking dates and all greyed out after September, worth a phone call I think.

Newhaven - Dieppe is a 'seasonal ferry'. For the last thirty years, it has closed down every winter and re-opened every spring. I lived for ten years in Newhaven. The winter storms make it very difficult for most ferry boats to safely enter the harbour. On one occasion, I and about 250 other fellow passengers were thrown around for more than an hour while the captain tried to line up the ship so that he did not collide with the lighthouse on the Harbour Arm or else come flying in past the lighthouse and bury the ship's bow in the Job Centre on the High Street. Our shoes were sticky with alcohol because the contents of the onboard Duty Free Shop had been thrown off the shelves and poured down the corridors along with shards of glass and teddy bears. (sorry, Pudsey).

Every autumn, the local newspaper headline reads: "Ferry To Close. Job Losses Feared" and every Spring, the headline reads: "Ferry Company Launches New Service To Dieppe".

With Brexit on the horizon, the future is less predictable and it is worth using a comparison site like AFerry to check in case new crossings are added due to increased demand.

He has uttered the B word, tut tut [wink] [wink]

I have no problem with the drink, like a sip now and then, but I find my bandage gets ruffled these days, and falls oer both peepers, a sorry sight is a blind bear.
