Well the garage lost it last year so I require another one, I know they should supply one but cut a long story short I will have to get one mysel

So I need a length of metal rod that I can adapt or one that works straight away without modification.

Car breakers yards?

Engineering/fabrication places, blacksmiths?

Any ideas?

It's a A class van bonnet.

Piece of timber carried in the garage?

Without any idea of size I can’t suggest anything apart from ring around a local scrappy and ask what they’ve got you can modify. There will be p,entry of options, but you will need to have an idea what to look for.

A small engineering place should have some steel rod paul if not have a look at B&Q or wickes etc. Failing that just get one of a scrap car .

Yes when places are opening up again I'm sure I can get one Alan, I can adapt the ends to fit the catches on the van easily, a bit of chemical metal should do it.
