In preparation for our big trip, we have just had a habitation service, engine service and an early MOT.

We were told we needed four new tyres as the rear ones have cracked on the wall and the two front ones had cracked between the tread. We have done 40000 miles in less than 3 years mostly not on the motorways, so a lot of bumpy roads. But was still surprised to have to replace the two fronts, as they were only replaced last year. But it was hot this summer in sardinia and corsica.

We had a PIR check done 2. This is the electrics. Only to discover the wiring was all incorrect. All the power was going through one of the output and missing all the trip switches. Suspect it was a factory fault. So had to have that sorted too. Unlikely, but if we ever have a new van we will pay for this to be done straight away so the Warranty can fix it.

None of the outstanding Warranty work was done. Some of this dates back 2 years. So we have got a habitation door that has buckled and caused a crease in the side of the van, but the garage managed to find a break down door and cannibalized some parts to get us going again. Adria sent the wrong blind for the front - again. And didn't send a full set of decals. Absolutely pants. Not sure how much is the fault of the garage and how much Adria.

We had asked garage to quote on putting a fuel cut off switch in for us and to do the filters on the suspension. They failed on both counts here too.

I spoke to the car service garage next door to us here in North Devon and they suggested going to mullacott caravas. this is a small firm but they have turned up Trumps. They will do a fuel cut off switch, put in a percentage monitor for the batteries, and do the filters for the gas and the air suspension. They can get this all done next week. So we got up early on Saturday to fetch the van from Bristol back down to Ilfracombe.

And still waiting for news on the parts for the damage done by the low loader in Corsica. Despite best laid plans, we will be heading off on our big trip with not all the work done.

Good news - passed MOT with no advisories.

Thank you. Yes, not quite sure when we will set off, but have to be in crete by 14.10 as Aged Ps arrive. The plan is to have a few days in the Phelps before we catch the boat to crete. Will keep you posted nearer the time.

Yes indeed. Peace of mind with medical insurance too. J always says that there is no such thing as a rich corpse!

Adria spares supply is abysmal. Apparently, they only ship spares when they have a container load to come so if you want something from them it can be months before the container is full and makes its way to the UK. This is the biggest complaint on the Adria Motorhome Owners group on Facebook.

And they send the wrong parts.
Who do you use and where for Adria work?
Ben the warranty chap at Adra UK suggested Geoff cox in Derbyshire for our bumper replacement.
