I think since we have been locked down, there have been far fewer cars and trucks on the roads. In addition there are almost no airplanes above us and the skies seem cleaner, more contrast to the clouds. Also, the birds seem louder because it’s now so quiet.

I was talking to my pal Martin while he was doing a couple of jobs for me on the MH and we were having trouble listening to each other because of the racket being made by loads of sparrows SHOUTING at each other.

Can it be that the birds have had to be louder to talk to each other over the years because there is normally a far higher background noise going on? Now it’s quieter it means they seem louder.

Looking out over the hills the air is certainly cleaner without the smoggy stuff.

We’re going to miss all of this once the lockdown ends.

How is it where you are?

They seem a lot louder here now unless it’s just the fact there isn’t as ya say some much traffic or plane noise.

Simon, Although I live in the city, even here it is as you say.

Funny enough, we all know that the weather seasons in the past years are abnormal. Summer temp in winter, dry like in a desert etc. Now I can definitely say, that we are having the first normal spring in years. It came as should in April, enough rain to fill all reservoirs, not too much. Air is.... brilliant. It crosses my mind if the world should stop every year for a month.......

Yes, here in spain its wonderful, this is generally the noisiest place I have ever lived in but during the lock down the calm and quiet has been amazing.
yes we seem to have far more birds than ever before , especially blackbirds, their singing is a joy every day.

I doubt it will last much longer as we move into phase 2 and the beaches start to open .😭

I bet there is a lot of places and people who will want it to stay quiet and no tourists like it used to be. Enjoy it while it lasts pat.👍

No difference noise wise where I am except for the almost constant wind.
Not a good spring at all, a lot of very windy days including today, very dry, a good rain is needed quite desperately for the gardens and farmers crops.
Bird sounds are always loud and clear.

Yes, Sid it is a bit busier here this weekend, we are hoping that soon we will be allowed to use our van again, we will go inland to the quieter calmer mountainous places to escape the noise and heat of the beach, they can all come here of we can bet away .
meanwhile, I have planted a veggie garden in containers up on the communal roof space where I sit and enjoy the weather .
stay safe x
