Now then, as we are still on the i. if I also treated myself to an iPad which one should I have? My Samsung note book is really useless, so I will have to have something else and I am used to the Apple stuff.
Let me worry about the cost, as Hans always says "She´ll pay" [tango_face_grin]

Always get one with a bigger memory than you think you’ll use. Min128gb.
If you want to carry it around with you, hold it in your hand to read from, go for a mini. For watching films, go bigger. J has the mini and really likes it. BUT now he has the iPhone XR with a bigger screen, he reads on this. I’d find the screen a bit small on a phone to do everything I do.

If you want to use it for navigation, you will need an iPad to be sim enabled or the gps won’t work unless you are connected to Wi-fi. We use an old iPad 2 without a sim for Co pilot for caravans. Great as no data used. Too slow now to use for anything else.

I'd be inclined to go to an apple store and try the different sizes, then ask about used ones for which is the best model for what you need, they seem to be pretty clued up and helpful.

Now you have an iPhone I would not bother with an iPad Mini. If you want to use Google Earth, or even look at various maps, it is much better to have a larger screen.
I agree totally with Katherine about getting a decent sized memory. - I wish I had bought an iPad with a bigger memory now. - My iPhone, (which was a later purchase), has a bigger one.

I am not sure how easy it is for you to get to an Apple Store? My guess is that it isn’t an easy option......although it is good advice from Kev. I looked at the ones friends had, and made my decision from there. Our son-in-law has a very large screen on his. (Apple iPad Pro). I would not choose one like that. It is not ideal for popping in a bag and toting it with you when you go out somewhere. I have the iPad Air 2, which has just been discontinued......although there are still plenty of them for sale.

Saw it a few minutes ago Silvia. I had trouble with three and had to send it back, they tried so hard to get it to go without success.

We’re all apple phones iPad iBook, phones are hand me downs so I’m always one behind the latest though it does save me shelling out £400/£500 for one😳 best advice I can give is go on apple refurbish still a pretty penny though you will save a little we went with the iPad Air a little lighter than the iPad had for several years now with no real troubles!!

My iPhone is a refurbished, from Amazon, looks brand new to me.
When I have some idea what I should look for I´ll have a gander.

If I didn´t know how old I was really I´d think I was younger than I am.

It was with 3 themselves but via http://www.mymemory.co.uk, you don't contact 3.  This is the one: £27.95

I’ve just ordered one of these for my iPad as a backup if I get difficulties hot spotting to the iPhone data.

I couldn´t get your link yesterday Silvia because of the comma at the end, just did it without the comma and it goes. [biggrin] now to see what it say about someone who doesn't live in the UK.

I'm just coming to the end of my 12gb 3 data sim from mymemory, lasted me just under 12 months.

Got another one ready for our next trip away. [thumb]

Maybe the further away from the UK you get the less efficient it is.

We used ours in France, Spain and Portugal with no problems.  Think we are on our 3rd one now.

Do you achieve a 4g signal when in France? I don’t believe I’ve ever seen anything but 3G over there using my 3 sim

Only 3G, works fine and is fast enough for us.
