Today when we were up in the wilds of Dartmoor we almost weren’t able to light the gas stove. It doesn’t have auto ignition and we rely on a piezo sparky lighter.

it wouldn’t work. I threatened it and hit it hard - that worked - just.

I don’t want to carry a box of matches, or a gas style cigarette lighter or such like. I want a sparky thing, but from where?

Any suggestions?

Our millets camping shop used to sell them but that was a while ago Simon, or you could try one of the other camping places.

Is it one with a flint Simon, maybe you just need a new flint.

No Gerty it’s not a one that uses a flint

cheers Geoff, exactly, so I’ve ordered a couple.

I‘d prefer to get it delivered than run the gauntlet of the supermarket run.

Sorry. Only just found this thread. We have these.

My photos also seem to be where they were when I first used to post them when the forum began! - Upside down!

We have two lighters which came from our local hardware store, as did the refill can. This is just for information in case anyone else is looking for one. We use them for lighting the wood burners etc.......plus the candles on a certain person’s cake when he brought me ’flowers’ and wine recently! 😉
