This could have been written over the past few weeks.

It was written in 1869  by Kathleen O’Meara: reprinted during 1919 Spanish flu Pandemic.

And people stayed at home
And read books
And listened
And they rested
And did exercises
And made art and played
And learned new ways of being
And stopped and listened
More deeply
Someone meditated, someone prayed
Someone met their shadow
And people began to think differently
And people healed.
And in the absence of people who
Lived in ignorant ways
Dangerous, meaningless and heartless,
The earth also began to heal
And when the danger ended and
People found themselves
They grieved for the dead
And made new choices
And dreamed of new visions
And created new ways of living
And completely healed the earth
Just as they were healed.

So true Jan. I wonder if people will have learnt anything about our 21st century way of life from Corvid 19? I think it is time we all reflected, and listened to the sense in the poem!

As long as the world is run by money and profit nothing will ever change, until we learn not to want all the things we don’t need and go back to a simpler way of life it will revert to how it was before the virus pollution will be worse as all the factories abroad get going again to try and make up for all the money they have lost so goodbye to clear sky’s and fresh air. Unless people stop buying all the crap they produce and realise clean environment and fresh food are all we really need The rest is just unnecessary plastic crap. Right I’m of me soapbox and going to make a coffee. Love to all stay safe and well see you when it’s over.🐇💐

You´re suggesting the impossible Alan, for yourself and the rest of mankind.

If no one suggests it, it can never happen.

Unfortunately progress isn’t always good. I think you are correct Jan and things will not change in the long run, but I hope you are wrong! 😳. I am sure you hope so as well!
