I will be at the Harrogate Motorcaravan Show on Thursday 27th March 2014. Will take some photographs, and give a report on return. Unfortunately we will not be in the Motorhome (bummer) as we have urgent business in Thirsk on Wednesday, so we are taking the opportunity to B&B overnight so as the go to the Show. My god! The price of B&B's.

I will keep an eye on the site by wifi but no maintenance as it is impracticable on a tablet.

Regards

Ross

Went to Thirsk where it rained all day and evening. Concluded our business and went to Harrogate Show for Thursday. Unfortunately we were in a car and without wellies. The site of fields with mud made it impossible to attend. If we hade been in our Motorhome with all the heavy weather gear it would have been different. We decided not to enter. 1 hour later the heavens opened and stayed heavy rain to the rest of the day. 11am to 7pm.  I believe that there are some hard stand areas, so don't let my comments put you off if you do decide to go. We just weren't prepared. Ah well! The Northern Motorcaravan Show in Knutsford to look forward to in July.

Did anybody go to the show from here.

I have heard a few people saying that it was a success although I couldn't make it myself.

Can give an idea from a trader's perspective.

Most of the smaller stands were indoors, so bad weather didn't affect us. After last year at the same show in 6ins of snow, it was just a little wet/muddy underfoot on the grass where the traders were camped, but I'm pretty sure all the visitor car parking was on hardstanding. Weather was pretty good all weekend in the end.

Most of the motorhome dealers and some of the other stands were outside, and the show seemed much bigger and certainly more busy than last year. It will never rival the NEC, but I reckon it has decent potential and it's good to have a show that far north for us folk from dahn sarf.

Also, don't go rushing to Knutsford in July, Ross, as Warners have replaced that show with the Midland Show at Stafford 11-13 July! Details here

Thanks for that Brit Stops. Shame I missed it. Poor preparation by me Ah well! Serves me right for not going in the motorhome. Hope the show was successful for you. We will look to attending at the Stafford venue in July.

Thanks for the feedback Britstops.

A few people have said it was a good show, I will definitely make it next year, especially with being a Yorkshireman.

That is, provide, of course, we have bought a motorhome by then, buying one is usually the easy bit, selling the hard bit.[smile]
