I made a joint decision to get rid of our existing 8x6 shed, along with the 5x5 alongside it as the small one leaked and was rotten. The larger one had at one time been partly an aviary and a dumping garden store. No more grass so the mower can go but I also want to make it a tidy environment, racked out and plenty of boxes for stuff. I guess my warehousing background is what drives me to do it proper like.

We’ve gone for a 13x6 in the space of the old ones, and having read up on the relevant legislation I’ve gone for the maximum allowed height of 2.5metres, and it’s fully insulated and has upvc door and windows. A bit of overkill but it will be warm and dry and should last longer than me.

I managed to get my lad to down tools and help out yesterday and today, he’s a chippy by trade and having all the special tools to hand made it seem effortless. It was also useful buying in 4 worktops at trade prices they came to just £114. The likes of B&Q want that much just for one!

I’ve started to fill it up, but began to rain and came in darker so it can wait till tomorrow to do some more.

That looks a nice man shed Simon, I am planning something too this year but want a motorhome garage come workshop area, but don't think I will get planning permission.

Did you inherit the PVC door and window or buy them separately.

We don't use the Man Cave reference though, so demeaning.

I might have to take some pics of my shed. Double skinned and insulated block walls. Insulated roof and floor. Double glazed windows and double doors for bikes/scooters. Power points galore. Alarm system. Exterior workbench and power. Oh yeah baby.[awesome-smiley-emoticon]
