I've just finished reading about Gerty's unfortunate problems. There was a mention in the replies about "Facts" and information therein.

Searched the site high and low and can't find anything relating to "Facts" (doesn't mean it isn't there). Is this something I should be able to access?

Another!!! You mean you're not faithful to this site???

Thanks for the info. I sometimes browse other sites but have found this one to be the most friendly, informative and interesting.

Put another way, it's the only one I support financially.

Keep it going.

Facts was at one point a really good forum, but then it got sold to a big multi forum Canadian company and although it has a lot of members it is not as busy as it used to be, and not as well supported by the owners, lots of info on there though to be fair.

I agree with Kev, we did subscribe a few years ago but stopped when it started going downhill.

There can be plenty of info on there, but also can be rife with unpleasantness and not only when I go in there 😉

It used to be the first place I went back in 08, now I log in here first and only go there out of curiosity one in a while.

Yep, I agree with all the comments on this subject.

I still go on there occasionally and post the odd post but tbh I don't get anywhere near the response level that I get on here and motorhomer.

I stopped going on there when I came back from Spain in 2019. The first thread I read when I was back was some chap trying to sell his MH and all he got was a torrent of abusive responses about how crap his ad was and how he needed better pictures etc etc. After that I'd had enough. What with that and all the inane threads about dogs, health woes and other shite plus one or two of the individuals who seemingly went out of their way to start arguments, it finished it for me.

They also seem to have loads of 'one hit wonders' who post one post and then never re-appear...call me a cynic but it seems to me that the forum owners are inflating the numbers of posters and newbies to suit their own ends.

Never been a member of Facts, but did meet a nice couple in France a few years ago who parked next to us and asked if we were members of another popular website.(Can’t remember the name of it). One site is enough for me, and this ‘does the job’.....as we have a knowledgable, friendly, group of members on here. 😁

I am still an active member on facts, I have got to KNOW a good few people on there, I don’t mind a disagreement it’s the nastiness of some replies I disagree with.
I was extremely pleased this morning to read one of the members who has just finished his cancer treatment has been declared cancer free. I also had an awful lot of support from folks on there last year and it still carries on now, just as if they really really know me and that has been a lot of help to me. This forum has also been very supportive and I wouldn’t feel comfortable deserting either.

Off to the bone cracker now.

Seems you speak with forked tongue!
Only yesterday and today you have instigated some rather nasty words on that very site.

You are correct though about some of the contributors who appear to go out of their way to create conflict.

In no way were my words nasty and I think you would struggle to paint it so tbh...and rest assured there is no "forked tongue" as you put it.

As I said I do go on there. That thread is a bete noir of mine. The evidence is there but still folks persist in attempting to go against it...especially the one chap who always insists he is right even when Dometic wrote to him and told him exactly the same as what I was saying to him. From memory I think he even researched the Thetford site himself and found the same info! It is only correct that newbies get the correct information or at least balance; and not guidance that is pushed simply because one man has done it one way (incorrectly) and cannot admit that he has done it wrongly. I also concede that there may well be an effect of the incorrect way of installing the fans but the correct way is described by Dometic and Thetford.

Anyway, lets not bring that over here shall we?

A Jan says there are some real nice folks over there. I have met one or two of them and shared correspondence with many more. For me its just one or two numbnuts who spoil it for the rest.
