I've created a text file with picture in Libra Open Office, and I need to be able to view it on the iPad4 I downloaded and an app to view it but it didn't work at all.

I can convert to almost any format, so is there a simple way to up/download it, then view it easily.

Also is there an app where I can make it behave a bit more like android, having a simple way to have a back button or similar would do.

Only know about Windows stuff, not Macs, but I do know that there is a version of Libra Open Office for Macs - see HERE - so dunno why you can't view it on your iPad providing you've got Open Office installed on it. Have you?

Have you created this file on your iPad or laptop?   I try to save/transfer any text files in PDF format and save them on my iPad in iBooks , usually then not a problem to read, don't know whether you can edit them in iBooks though, haven't tried that.

Just found out that we are able to download Microsoft Word through the Apple App Store onto the iPad.   Works ok, just tried it.

Ditto here, thick as Pig manure on apples, I only want to view the file on the iPad Sean, not create, so I don't want anymore apps than absolutely needed (I can't spell necessarily) see post later.

Not getting anywhere so far, I got Adobe PDF reader installed, I emailed/attached a PDF to myself, but opening the email and tapping it only gets me to another useless screen, I want to download it direct to the iPad4, but cannot see how to do that or then to access the wherever it gets put, I went for the PDF option out of simplicity as open office can save any file as a PDF, I can't see word making it easier.

I need to be able to view it offline by the way, but not edit, except maybe to add a note, but not a biggy.

HELP

The easiest way is to sideload through iTunes.

Open iTunes connect your iPad > select the iPad > select file sharing > in the left hand pane select adobe acrobat > then drag and drop from Windows explorer into the right hand pane.

That sounds more like it Colin, I am a more visual person, written instructions confuse the hell out of me.
