No info yet, Lin, just playing the waiting game.

Back along, it was inferred I should expect September, but I wouldn't be surprised if that slips.

I can get around, usually with a stick for doggy walking, but boy do I pay for it afterwards. My evenings are usually pretty miserable and I wear a support tube on it at night as the joint is sloppy. It is all exacerbated by the other knee getting sore, one hip intermittently being very painful, plus the toes on one foot gone very lumpy-jointed and painful. I might need to see the doc about that to find out what is going on.

I really hate being physically compromised. I've always been an outdoor person and I'd love to be doing long walks on Dartmoor with Ellie. She is not getting the walks she deserves, and that upsets me too.

I didn't realise it was that bad Geoff.

Right as admin I direct you to get some professional help right away, after that get to the docs and see about the leg n foot, this sounds very serious to me, do you have diabetes? have you been tested for it?

Going back to books, I have just been given this: Double Cross - The Explosive Inside Story of the Mobster Who Controlled Amercia by Sam Giancana, haven't started it yet but supposedly excellent.

Still get yourself sorted though Geoff, it's scary how fast things can degenerate when you get older, sooner rather than later, no one at home to nag you so I'll have to do it.

I’ll do a quick nag too. I’ve heard about people that have just left being on the waiting list. And time has moved on and on. They have been in so much pain so finally went back to the Doctor, who spoke to the consultant and got them bumped up. Worth a try.

Our neighbour got bumped up a list two months ago. He is a farmer and only in his mid 50’s so said he couldn’t work until it was done. - He had the operation on the NHS in 8 weeks!

We have another friend who is 80 and has been waiting for months to get his done and still doesn’t have a date! - Could be a case of ageism 😡 but knowing our neighbour he would have ‘made a lot of noise’ until it was done, whereas our elderly friend would not!

My uncle waited four years for a knee operation never did get it they took him in three times to do it but then cancelled it as they said they had emergencies

the last time they even gave him the pre op jab and wheeled him down to the theatre he came back round thinking it had been done. He died at 86 without
it ever being done, so ya I believe its a case of their old so hang back and we wont have to do it save a few quid. Or am I a pessimist. [confused-smiley-emoticon-1]

Move to Yorkshire, Liz had hers done a year apart, 2010/2011 she's only 63 now, she was amazed when they said they'd do it, had to lose weight of course, she starting to get pain now as she has abused them a bit, but nothing like before, half of her issues are the lack of bend as they gave her the wrong size, so they are happy to redo them, it's up to her more or less when they re-do them.
