I’ve just come off phone, firstly with Tesco changing vouchers into Eurotunnel money @ 3 to 1.

£50 in Tesco vouchers, became £150 in Eurotunnel - thank you very much.

while on the phone to Tesco I was able to get some expired vouchers reinstated - they can do that within 6 months of the expiry date. A very welcome bit of news that was!

then onto Eurotunnel. There was a bit of a wait before I was connected to a human being (you can’t book online using vouchers, no sweat) and she took all of my vehicle details, train time etc. miss Molly now costs £20 each way 🙁

just as I was about to pay her the difference between my £150 voucher value, the actual train price and Molly - the phone cut out. 👿

So I waited a little while and then redialled and got into the queue system, and as I was waiting so I got a call back from the same Eurotunnel girl apologising for cutting me off, and can we finish off the transaction? Somehow while she was talking to me she suddenly found herself talking to someone different and sorted them then rang me back.

all quickly sorted, I’ve got my booking reference and have done the API info for them.
Boris - don’t you dare lock us down again!

Nice one Simon, hope you didn't use their premium number to call?

Where are you off to?

Wise man. [thumb]the 0844 number they want you to use costs about 7p min plus a heafty transfer charge, quite a few have been fleeced going that route.

I use 01303 282061

Both your and mine get you to the same place afaik, albeit a lot cheaper.

Bon vacance.

Pete

Hello

You probably mostly know this, but if you get an 08** number, go onto the website "say no to 0870" and you nearly always get a landline number 01***********.

Only 0800 and 0300 numbers are free to use, but not if you are in France or probably anywhere else in Europe.

I have reasons for still using my UK registered mobile even though I live in France. I can phone 0800 numbers, but have to pay the French provider to patch me back to UK and from there I'm assured it's free.

Using a French phone, landline or mobile, won't let you get an 0800 number so the above website comes in handy.

Weather here in Normandy is perfect, hot, sunny and just a hint of breeze. Enjoy it when you get here.

Anton

I see there has been a change of mind over this quarantine business for a lot of countries.
Never could understand why Germany was included nobody I speak to here or where I was near Hannover know anyone who has had it.  Berlin and Munchen/Munich have the greatest number Berlin has over twice the population of Munich.
