It's not the warmest of days, but I'm fed up of the van being sat out there and me not working on it, so first job was to connect the gas bottle up as I didn't have a bottle spanner with us when we went off for the day a while back, so that's done, next the gas locker door wouldn't lock properly, on investigation one of the hinges was loose, so that was an easy job and the plastic inner part of the lock was broken, so I've replaced the lock with one from the other side for now as I need to be able to secure the gas locker if we go away, new one on order from here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ZADI-MOTORHOME-CARAVAN-LOCKER-DOOR-CATCH-WITH-LOCK-SWIFT-ELLDIS-BESACAR-ETC/331888263497?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I
'll check the appliances after luncheon, they did work when I tested them before buying it, so I'm not expecting any surprises, but best to be sure before we get off in it, fridge may not work due to the angle it is living at right now, but I'll give it a go anyway as these fridge freezers work really well on an incline.

Buy the way these locker locks are a bit weird to use if you have them, this is the proper way.

insert key in the lock, turn to unlock but leave the key in, turn the handle to open the door, then turn the key back to lock it and remove the key, then when you shut the door all you need to is push the dooor closed then turn the handle and push the handle in then it is locked and secure.

Not much Simon, that's the trouble with a free build, you can't get them to get a move on.

We got the block n beam roof up on Monday though, need to make it waterproof and get the doors on next, then there is the parking area to sort out, but they have a tarmaccing company so that should be easy, kerb to drop etc.

We need pictures of how it’s going together.

Nothing to show yet Simon, not doing the bigger stuff until I get it on flatter ground.

The cooker all lit up ok, and surprisingly so did the fridge despite it being steeply inclined backward and to the back of the fridge.

Sorry, my mistook - what I meant was work on the garage and surroundings.

We had similar locks on our Bessacar.  One time after changing the gas bottle I closed the door as you describe only to find I had left the keys in the locker.  No way could I open the locker, I tried a local motorhome dealer and he would not help, I think he thought I was trying to steal the gas bottles.  In the end I phoned my neighbor who has a key for our house and he posted the spare keys to me.

Oops, lucky you were able to get a solution. I always worry I’m going to lock a door by mistake and keep spares elsewhere to hand in the MH.

Yes been there done that, always keep the spare set of keys hidden in the van somewhere, it's so easy to lose them, at worst I'd break a window to get it, passenger side of course.
