After inserting a web link in a post, when you add normal content after the link it is all shown in different colour and underlined as if it were also a link, as in the reply this morning on the Morning all post No.  #9074

Tried various things to get rid of but not managed it yet.

Any ideas??????

I believe you have copied and pasted the latter part of your post which contained a "link" to a webpage.

No Drew, that was typed in after the link was inserted.

I have tried re writing with the same result, as well as writing fresh in Word and then pasting to the post but the colour change and underline remain.

I've just reported it to Daniel in tech support, he's looking into it now John.

I have written out a new reply, where I put in the  later text before the line with the link, then inserted the line with the link above it and it has remained as it should be.
I then edited the original with the complete new post and it shows as intended?

Tech response:-

It seems that the user is doing copy paste. Please ask the user to select all posts (CTRL+A) and then hit the clear formatting button to the left of Font Family above the text reply box.

Thanks for that Kev, I had basically tried all of that, other than I couldn't find the clear formatting command, didn't realise it was the little logo to the left of the box.
I had tried to paste the whole thing into Word and use the clear formatting, which worked in Word, however when pasted back to the reply box it still showed, weird.
I'm sure that there is a technical explanation as to why.

Why does it happen in the first place though?
The only part of the original that was pasted was the link to the web page, all the rest was typed in.
