Well I have been working tirelessly all day to repair my previous mistermeaner relating to the installation of the usb panel, well I spent at least 30minutes cutting and painting a plastic surround. I hope it meets with your approval. 🙂

Well it meets with my approval, not that it counts for anything really, the acid test will come when Capn. Pugwash comes ashore and makes his judgment. Jankers for you I fear 😱

I’m sure the pilot of the flying machine will approve (otherwise I could be mean and point out his unfortunate incident) not that I would be bringing any attention to that particular incident and pointing any fingers as I’m not that sort of person.YET.🤣🏁

I might be wrong but looks like the circular voltmeter cover is damaged now or is it a reflection?🤔

Apart from that, looking good.

Anyone who can knit can knit a jumper, its sewing it together that takes skill.
Now it looks finished Alan, even if you hadn't have Made a boob it wouldn't have looked as neat as that.

Well my application to register my van on 3rd March has this morning come back from the same lady with the exact same letter from DVLA and it appears the Welsh still hate me as she failed it again. I knew I should have got some Welsh person to apply for me using the old Celtic language. I shall now go to see a solicitor and get them to apply for me as the van more than covers the DVLA list of requirements. She has no reason whatsoever to fail it so we shall see what happens.

I'd save my money Alan, solictors have no sway with DVLA wait til things get back to normal then try again.

Obviously a right jobsworth misery.

What is the differences if you cant get it registered as a motorhome Al, i'm thinking it might lower your max speed limits a bit but does it also affect the insurance or anything else?
Maybe worth leaving it for a bit as Kev said.

Pete

Hi pete i have tried to insure it as a motor home but they say unless it says that in the logbook then no won’t insure it and the firm I was with have said they won’t renew my insurance as it’s no longer just a transit van. Rock and a hard place spring to mind. Must admit I’m getting a bit down about it all at the moment. I feel a trip to dvla Wales with a placard coming on. Might post something on social media get loads of these protester types to turn up they seem to go for any excuse to make some noise lol.

How disappointing Alan, have you approached other insurers? There must be one, I thought it was possible to insure anything.

Have you tried contacting a company that does van conversions and asking them how they go about it with the DVLA Alan? They might be able to give you some advice.

We have two friends who have got VW camper-van conversions and both vehicles are registered as camper-vans. - This was done before they bought them.....by the companies that did the conversion work.

If dvla are refusing it surely they are bound to give the reason and advise what needs to be done to comply for future applications?

Lifesure, APlan, Brentacre, AIB (I’m with them), Comfort, Just Kampers.
