Loads of these in France and Portugal but just seen my first supermarket 24hr launderette at the Budgens in Holt.

Wonder if they will catch on over here?

I wish them well. In my minds eye all I can see is graffiti and smashed panels in this country.

Am I just a sceptic?  Septic maybe

There is one in a small garage on the A39 just north of Williton in Somerset. There are a couple of big static caravan sites near by but I would have thought they would have had their own washers? Anyway, the garage owner obviously thinks it is worth his while to install one, - but I must admit it is the only one I have seen in the U.K. Pete.

Looks like it could do with a larger cover to keep you out of the rain! At least a lot of towns and villages in the UK still have old-fashioned launderettes. We have one in Q Combe Martin

Just thought i'd mention it as it might come in handy if anyone is touring with the van in that area and needs a bit of washing done.

Mind you, unlike France and Portugal the parking isn't free, its in a pay & display carpark. [frown]

I won’t pay to park rather find a road to park and just walk or ride the bus into the shops and cafes. Got to sort out a bike rack for the trannie van now, might get a towbar fitted that the bike can sit on.

I say pay and display but the first 1/2 hour is free (whoopie) if you shop at Budgens, hardly long enough to get the washing done.

I'm like Al and hate paying for parking. The CL we were on is only 10 mins walk from there so if were to use it I would just walk from the CL.

I hate paying for anything. When we visited France/Swiss/Italy in October we didn’t pay for anything, parking, water, water dump or overnighting. With the exception of the 3 night enforced stay in Switzerland for comfort sake while I played golf.

I can’t wait to get over there again, I hope we will still be welcome to enter, and if we are not allowed to exit that will be fine by me I’d rather be there.

Oh dear. Not more bad news. ☹️ What a shame for the people who work there and the locals who use the store.
